Module 1 - Teacher Academy 101
After completing this module you will be able to:
- Describe Minecraft Education and prepare to teach your first lesson with it
- Describe teaching a lesson with the Teach and release model - Build a house challenge
- Plan a lesson - Break apart the lesson plan and make changes as though you were going to teach it
- Identify the benefits of game-based learning when crafting learning experiences for students.
- Explain how to assess learning in the Minecraft game
Module 2 - Teacher Academy 102
- Describe the building skills, tools, and assessments used in the Build a Piece of Furniture for Your House Challenge
- Break apart the lesson plan and make changes as though you were going to teach it yourself
- Explain the importance of collaborative learning available by choosing multiplayer options when planning a lesson
- Identify the benefits of game-based learning when crafting learning experiences for students
Module 3 - Teacher Academy 103
- Describe the Minecraft Education Recreate the World Challenge
- Plan a lesson by breaking apart the lesson plan and making changes as though you were going to teach it yourself
- Identify the importance of collaborative learning by choosing multiplayer options with student small groups when planning a lesson
- Identify the benefits of game-based learning when crafting learning experiences for students
- Explain the difference between students as world builders creating content to show their understanding of a concept, and teacher world builders, who create learning experiences for students in a world
Module 4 - Teacher Training Academy
- Identify best practices used to train teachers on how to integrate Minecraft into teaching and learning
- Develop a plan for training teachers to use Minecraft Education
🗓️ Schedule - Asynchronous.
✅ Coursework - needs to be completed no later than June 9th, 2024. Coursework needs to be completed during off-contract times to get a teacher stipend. Maximum stipend is 6 hours.
